The Triumphal Entry.

John 12:14 says that Jesus found a young donkey and sat on it. Not the top choice camel or a fancy caravan decked out in luxurious cloth, but a donkey!

The people of Jerusalem waved palm branches, which was a symbol of victory, and yelled "Hosanna!" which is translated to "save us" or "rescue". Here, Jesus fulfilled another prophecy, as it was said in

Zechariah 9:9:

"Rejoice greatly, Daughter Zion! Shout in triumph, Daughter Jerusalem! Look, your King is coming to you; He is righteous and victorious, humble and riding on a donkey, on a colt, the foal of a donkey."

The Savior of the world was also the most modest man ever to exist.

Not an ounce of pride or arrogance in His pure body. Do l even need to say it? Jesus is so cool!

And He has so much to teach us to this day.

He's a King of salvation, showcasing mercy and compassion - not wealth or grandeur. He wanted to save us, not conquer or control us. But yet, we sometimes find ourselves wavering in greed, materialism, selfishness, and driven to consume and compete with others - distracted from what our Prince of Peace achieved for us!

In a time where we're encouraged to indulge our egos, what might be controlling you?
