"Gratitude is a mindful awareness of the benefits of life." - Max Lucado

For my pessimists or anxiety-prone people - this reminder is for us!

We are instructed to rejoice always, pray constantly, and give thanks in everything because

  1. This is God's will for us (1 Thessalonians 5:16-18)

  2. This helps us recognize the beauty of God's CONTINUOUS blessings so that we can hold onto His goodness! (1 Thessalonians 5:21)

  3. We then can submit to others, being considerate of those who may need the same encouragement we find ourselves craving! (Ephesians 5:21)

Instead of focusing on what life would be like if we could just lose 10 more pounds or make just a bit more money - why don't we find reasons to CELEBRATE since we're called to maintain this mindfulness?

Let us sing to God with gratitude in our hearts, giving thanks through Jesus! (Colossians 3:16-17)
